Prominence place on the countryside scenery of the Rio Grande do Norte, for it´s original and unique history, ethnic and cultural diversity, the Seridó knows today an economical and tourist development that must take into account the cultural wealth and be accompanied by a better knowledge of it´s human potentialities. In that sense, the project Cultural Reference Inventory of the Seridó - RN tries to gather and produce informations, mapping and registering the main cultural manifestations of the Seridó, such as the celebrations, knowing and doings, forms of expressions and places.
The project follows the methodology proposed by the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico Nacional - IPHAN (Institute of the National Historical Patrimony) and is now in it´s first fase of data collection and will have as unfoldings a book containing analytical articles written by specialists of the region and documentaries on some relevant themes pointed out during the research. The project´s research team are linked to the teaching and research institutions of the RN (UFRN and CEFET) and counts on the support of SEBRAE-RN in the operation and logistics of the project.
