Regional Guides of the Seridó

On the last 22nd of June, the "Regional Tourism Guide" course was accomplished, given by Senac Seridó (Caicó/RN), which graduated 24 professional Tourist Guides to work in the cities that compose the Tourist Center of the Seridó. The course, iniciated in October of 2005, with a work load of 610 hours, possibitated each of the students to comprehend the work developed by the professional Tourist Guide.

Among the educational practices, classes were given in the cities of Cerro Corá, Currais Novos, Carnaúba dos Dantas, Parelhas, Jardim do Seridó and Acari, as well as technical visits given at the Augusto Severo airport and at tourist points in the state capital, Natal. This course, besides capacitating professionals for the local market, in other words, the Seridó Region, possibilitated the development of the tourist activity in the cities that compose the Tourist Center of the Seridó.

The graduation solenity of the course counted on the presence of the President of the Rio Grande do Norte Tourist Guides' Union, Iacy Vasconcelos, who talked about the rights and duties of the Guide, also the Coordinator of the Project "Roteiro Seridó", Daniela Tinoco, Carmem Vera from the State Tourism Office, Secretaries of Tourism from all the cities of the Seridó and other authorities.

*In the terms of the Law nº8623, of january 28th of 1993, the Regional Tourist Guide is considered a professional whose activities comprehend the reception, the transportation, the accompaniment, the given of information and tourist assistance, in itinerary or local or intercity tours, for the visitors and its' tourist attractions, giving information and permanent assistance in trips or displacements in determined Federal Units.
